The Australia National Team and their achievements in the World Cup will go down in Australian PDRL history. Overcoming incredible odds, the PDRLA, players, volunteers, coaches, managers and sponsors ensured that our side competed in the historic event.
The tournament was the first world cup for physical disability rugby league and was held from 23 October to 30 October 2022 in Warrington, England. England defeated New Zealand 42–10 in the world cup final to become the first world champions. The Welsh claimed third place after an incredible battle with our team in the play-off.
The Australian National Team, New Zealand, England and Wales have created a legacy for the sport, that will enable future generations to target as the pinnacle of PDRL competitions. Players from around the globe are already setting their sights on the next tournament.
