Who Can Play?

Physical Disability Rugby League (PDRL) is an inclusive, modified version of rugby league designed so that people with physical disabilities can enjoy the game in a safe, supportive and competitive environment.

If you love footy and want to be part of a strong, welcoming community there’s a place for you here.

Who Is Eligible?

PDRL is open to anyone aged 8 and over who has a physical disability that affects mobility, coordination or physical function. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Amputees
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Acquired brain injury
  • Neurological conditions
  • Musculoskeletal impairments
  • Permanent mobility limitations

Do I Need Rugby League Experience?

Not at all. We welcome players of all experience levels from complete beginners to lifelong footy fans. Our coaches and volunteers will support you every step of the way.

What About Safety?

PDRL uses modified rules to ensure player safety, including:

  • Reduced contact
  • Coloured shorts to identify contact levels
  • Trained sports trainers at all games
  • Referees experienced in modified rugby league

Can I Join a Team?

Absolutely. NSWPDRL has multiple teams across Sydney, and new players are always welcome. Whether you want to compete, stay active, or be part of a supportive community there’s a place for you.
